Add a small amount of oil to a frying pan and fry the onions and garlic for a few minutes until they have softened.
Add the tomato, beans and a small splash of water and cook for 10 minutes until almost dry.
Finally, add ½tsp smoked paprika and a drizzle more olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Pour the beans on top of the toasted pitta or wholemeal bread and serve immediately
