Eat A Full English To Boost Health & Lose Weight

Research suggest that ordering a full English breakfast may be more beneficial for weight loss than a breakfast high in carbohydrates such as cereal or fresh fruit.

This is down to the fact that a full English is higher in protein, and will therefore leave you less likely to snack on other foods until lunchtime.

One study was conducted with a group who were all given a breakfast with the same caloric intake, and all had the equal amounts of fat and fibre. However, half of the group had a breakfast containing 30-39g of protein, and the other half was given a glass of water. The results showed that those who ate the large quantity of protein with their breakfast felt more satisfied and less hungry throughout the morning, they were also found to consume less at lunch time.

Of course the health benefits of your full English will depend on the choices you make. For instance, choosing a sausage with a high quantity of meat will be better than one high in fat. The same applies for a piece of bacon; opt for a lean piece rather than one with a lot of fat. Choose mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach to bulk out your meal. Go for low GI carbohydrates that will leave you with sustained energy such as whole meal pittas or wraps instead of fried bread.
