National Vegetarian Week
With National Vegetarian Week arriving 11-17 May, we thought we would highlight the benefits of going meat-free from time to time. The amount of meat we eat has quadrupled in the last 50 years, with meals rarely being consumed without it. So what good can come of giving up meat, even if it’s intermittently?
- Planet: Giving up meat for one day a week for a whole year would reduce your carbon emissions the same amount as if you were to not drive your car for an entire month
- Health: Reduced risk of cancer, obesity, diabetes, heart disease and stroke
- Financial: Items such as beans and pulses are significantly cheaper than cuts of beef and chicken breasts.
With cutting down on your meat consumption benefitting many areas of your life, the only inspiration you need now are some delicious recipes! Have a look at the recipes we have chosen below, and if nothing takes your fancy, click here to view our full vegetarian recipes range!
